Testing

When you purchase a TC Listed mobile tank, you are buying a tank that was designed according to the comprehensive testing required under the TC standard.

The following testing were performed on each mobile tank design we sell;

Bottom Lift Test

Top Lift Test

Stacking Test

Leak Test

Hydraulic Pressure Test

Drop Test

Rollover Test

Vibration Test

General

1. Anchor Straps

     Small TC IBCs -

For a small charge we will send a set of anchor straps with your purchased tank.

Using our attached tabs, it is easy and quick to attach your mobile tank to a truck deck, trailer or any other platform.

Our new "full length" mounting tab (Oct/12)

2. Mounting Holes

     Large TC IBCs -

All our large IBCs come with drilled holes in the saddles so that the tank can be easily mounted to a truck or trailer bed. Hardware is not supplied.

3. Baffles

As per the TC IBC standard, our full line of mobile tanks come with an installed baffle to minimize the fluid forces on the tank walls when the tank is in motion. Our 1000 gal IBC comes with 2 baffles.

4. Transport Canada Label

All our tanks come with a Transport Canada label.

5. High Strength Saddles with Repad Reinforcement

     Large TC IBCs

We build our saddles to withstand the high forces involved in large IBCs. To prevent saddles from tearing away from the tank under intense torque, we attach an additional repad.

This is a great feature that adds value and mimimizes future headaches.

6. Lifting Lugs

All our TC mobile tanks consist of at least one lifting lug. The 1000 gal IBC has two.

7. 15" inspection port

Our 825 and 1000 gal tanks (both single and double walls) have 15" inspection ports. This is a requirement of Transport Canada.

Our new inspection port design (Oct/12)

This new design improves greatly the ability to remove the port lid. It is also designed to virtually eliminate all rusting.

Fittings

1. Fusible Plug

As per the TC IBC standard, we install a gits "Fusible Plug" into every mobile tank we manufacture. This high quality plug will release when an external heat melts the link. This will release any pressure and/or fluid and prevent an explosion.

We've made the size of this fitting large so that it can also be used as a fill. This is a great feature to have when you encounter short pump hoses.

2. Pump Mount and Repad

In order to prevent damage to the pump and tank fill fitting thru the high degree of potential torque and shaking from the motion of the vehicle, we install a strenghtening repad on this fitting. We ship this fitting with a plastic plug. (pump sold separately).

 3. Pressure / Vacuum Fitting

All our TC IBCs come with a press/vac fitting. When the pressure inside the tank reaches an undesirable level, a mechanism inside the fitting will release. Conversely, if fluid is taken out of the tank, thus creating a vacuum, the mechanism inside the fitting will release and let air into the tank so that the tank can breath and still pump out.

For our double wall tanks, we install an additional press/vac fitting in the secondary intersticial space.

If there is neither a pressure or vacuum present, this vent is in the NORMALLY CLOSED position. This feature ensures that moist air entering the tank will be kept to a minimum, thereby reducing rust potential.

4. Plastic Spare

On our large TC IBCs only, we install a spare fitting that may be used by the customer for any application they may have, We ship a non-rusting plastic plug in this fitting.

5. NOTE: Bottom drains are NOT allowed under the TC standard.

As such, as a manufacturer, we are not permitted to supply our mobile TC tanks with drains.

Also, since all our designs need to be tested and submitted to TC prior to being put on the market, we are also not able to modify our designs by installing additional fittings.

Roll Bars

The Transport Canada IBC standard states that the fittings of a TC listed tank must have a way of protecting the pump and fittings in the event of a roll over.

We have come up with several designs over the years, but our current design is sleek and aesthically appealing. It is made of thick steel and attached with ample weld.
