China Nite

Oct 27/12

We once again purchased a corporate table for China Night in support of the Hospitals of Regina Foundation.

Dear Sponsors, Volunteers and Performers and parents,

THANKS a Million for your sponsorship; Volunteering; and Performing; and to dedicated parents for driving, and attending. With all your help, we have another successful China Night.

We will determine the final amount that we will be donating to the Hospitals of Regina Foundation in a week or two. It will be around $15,000.

The Leader Post has a very nice article about our event by the young talented reporter Vanessa Brown and a very nice Dragon picture photographer Michael Bell on October 28, 29th. Please click the following link.

Solid Scholarship

Huge L Steel presents an annual scholarship at the Chung Wah closing ceremonies every May. We call it the "SOLID" award. It is presented to the student that Chung Wah feels has demonstrated SOLID characteristics throughout the year.

Tradition has it that when you feed the Lion money, success and fortune will soon follow!

We have supported this annual tradition from day one and continue to believe it has contributed to our success.

The Hockey and Hearts Celebrity Golf tournament...

was established to bring together the great Hearts of the local Hockey community, along with the talented and successful celebrities that inspire us! The tournament was designed by the Rouleau Rink Revitalization committee as a fundraiser for the Rouleau Community Rink . The founding celebrity, Keith Aulie, has also chosen to designate one additional charity per year to receive partial proceeds from the tournament.

Supporter of Prostate Cancer and Male Mental Health

Hi,

It's Movember and time to make a difference.

Men's health is a cause I am passionate about but in order to make a difference I need your help. My commitment is to grow a moustache for the month of November and in doing so, raise vital awareness and funds for prostate cancer and male mental health.

I am asking you to help support my personal journey by making a donation. The size of which isn't important, every little bit helps Movember to continue its funding of world class programs. If you want to know more about what you'll be helping to fund, you can visit http://ca.movember.com/about/funding-overview/.

To highlight the importance of what I am doing, take a look at these statistics:
•       1 in 7 men will be diagnosed with prostate cancer in their lifetime
•       This year 26,500 new cases of the disease will be diagnosed
•       1 in 5 men will experience a mental illness this year

If you'd like to help change these statistics, please donate to me here: http://mobro.co/bradshambel

If you're interested in the work being done take a look at the Programs We Fund section on the Movember website: http://ca.movember.com/about/funding-overview/

Thank you in advance for supporting my efforts to change the face of men's health.

Brad Shambel

Thank you for your generous donation.

Your support of Movember is helping us change the face of men’s health, specifically in the areas of prostate cancer and male mental health. Today, we’re proud to be funding world-class research, educational and support programs that, without your donation, would not be possible.

Our website provides detailed information on all programs we fund, both local and global, click here to check out what you're helping to fund.

If you’d like a quick snapshot of just one world-class program while we’ve got you, check out this Movember video, featuring our GAP program.

We are an active supporter of the arts. Over the years we have given to a wide range of organizations such as theater programs (Regina Little Theater) and music programs (Regina Music Festival).

Tennis

During the summer of 2012, the Lakeshore Tennis Club in Regina held a number of "happy hour" socials. Huge L Steel was a sponsor of one of these events.

The highlight this year was our socials with the "Happy Hour" attracting about 40-60 people per event. This also seemed to increase our summer memberships - about 14 summer members (these are memberships after July 15th). We were able to find six wonderful and kind hearted sponsors. Please thank Jeff Child, Murray Hugel (Huge L Steel), Roland Degelman, Violet Woloschuk, the Leadership Formula, and jump.ca for their generosity.
